Talking about creative brands with Dani Collins

Bestselling romance author and I discuss why, even when you're an established author, you need to work on your brand

Bestselling romance author, Dani Collins, and I sat down for a little chat about her brand and how Brand Something Beautiful helped her. We explore why even if you’ve been a creative professional for years, it still helps to be intentional about refining your brand.

The joy, to me, was realizing how we’re all in the same boat. Every creative professional I know struggles to get (and maintain) traction as the market and even culture shifts. The rise of AI is making it both easier (in terms of using it as a creative aid or to help with marketing) and harder (due to all the slop AI-generated books flooding the market now) for authors and other creators. How do you navigate these changing waters?

As we discuss, it starts with knowing who you are, why you’re doing this crazy thing called creating, and then understanding your audiences and what they want. That’s all core to the branding process. But increasingly, so is doubling down on being human and forming personal connections, with your audience and also with other creators.

So take a listen to learn what Dani has done and how you can learn some tips for your own creative brand. You can also find out more about Dani and her work at https://danicollins.com/
